Those of you have or work with the Samsung Series 7 Gamer laptops, especially model NP700G7C-S02US, does your screen develop a flicker if you dim the display brightness? I'm not even talking about the bottom of the scale - if I dim the display just a couple notches below maximum, it develops a flicker.

To be clear, it's not a distinct on-off cycle - it's a more subtle flicker, more like the screen is vibrating. If I push the brightness to maximum, I don't notice it anymore.

Is this just a bad unit, or is this a known issue for this model/series?

Are you at 60 or 120hz, and what version is the driver?

60 Hz. I tried 120 Hz, which looked like it was going to be better, but the screen shuts off completely when you try to dim it.

As for the driver, I don't recall - I literally just got it, though - so it's whatever version is currently shipping from the factory. It's packed up because it's defective for other reasons (distorted sound), and I've got another on the way. But if all models display this flicker, I'm not sure it's worth keeping the replacement either.

This is unacceptable for a $2k laptop.

If you use the new 310 drivers from nVidia the dim on 120hz is fixed....

Good to know, and yet also a shame since I've heard a lot of nightmare stories about v310, and that a lot of people are reverting to 306.97.

I guess I'll have to wait until the next stable version.
