I decided to play the machine with just the battery and every game I played, the fps dropped down so dramatically while on battery mode but boosted back up when AC was plugged back in...why?

check your power plans in windows - on battery your cpu / gpu are clocked down to save power.

Exactly right your power plans take control.
Just remember the battery will last 20 mins if you set the plans to maximum without the ac adapter plugged in. This model is classed as a desktop replacement for that very reason.

    Ok mate.

Go into 'Control Panel', 'Power options'.
Select a power plan to edit there should be 5 as default : Optimized, Eco, Power Save, Balanced, High Performance.
To the right of each it states 'Change Plan Setting'.
For instance click to the right of 'High Performance'. (Best for gaming).
Then you need to click on 'Change Advanced Power Settings'.
At the bottom of the list that pops up....click on 'ATI Graphics Power Settings'.
Change this from 'Maximize Battery Life' to 'Maximize Performance'.
    Click 'Apply'.

    Done.
Remember as stated before though, If your 700g7 lasts more than 20-30 mins gaming without the ac adapter........you are blessed.

    Cheers
    Steve

You must have an option to change it to maximum performance in the Nvidia Control Panel then.

In the power options guide in my earlier post you obviously do not have 'ATI Graphic Power settings' because its Nvidia. What is listed on the power plan you have chosen. There should be something listed. Eg Mine says :

    '-High Performance'

    +Require a Password on Wakeup
    +Hard Disk
    +Desktop background settings
    +Wireless settings
    +Sleep
    +USB settings
    +Power buttons and lid
    +PCI Express
    +Processor power management
    +Display
    +Multimedia settings
    +Internet Explorer
    +Battery
    >>>>+ ATI Graphics Power Settings<<<<

If you havent got anything listed below the '+battery' TAB and no power options in your Nvidia control panel,

    RING SAMSUNG SUPPORT.

Samsung said they don't support it without it being plugged in....so, is there any work around? I don't care if it only lasts 10 minutes...it's more of a moral thing now for me, lol
