I've installed an SSD in my optical drive bay, so I definitely don't need ExpressCache in the iSSD anymore. Is there a way I can use it for direct storage?

Better question: is ExpressCache smart enough that it will only try to optimize my HDD, or will it try and precache files on the SSD I've installed?

If you don't install the ExpressCache software, it won't touch your iSSD drive at all. You can just repartition the drive and use it for whatever you want - or leave it alone altogether.
