So i've searched the web for this issue and cant find anything, basically last night i closed the lid on my laptop and about 15 minutes later opened it and pressed the power button to wake it up and nothing happened, the blue light still pulsates but nothing seems to wake it up, i've repeatedly pressed the power button and tried pressing and holding it and nothing seems to work, nor does pressing any other button on the device.
I've had the laptop for just over a year and never had a problem, it runs win 8, i usually just close the lid and when i open it and press the power button it wakes up.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

We need to figure out whether it is stuck in sleep or has a problem at the BIOS or hardware level.
I would suggest that you start by (i) disconnecting the power supply; (ii) turning the computer over; (iii) finding the battery disconnect switch hole (a small hole with a rectangle with cross inside symbol) then poking a thin still object (eg unbent paper clip) through it until you can hear a click; (iv) opening the computer and holding down the power button for a minute; then (v) plug in the PSU and see if the computer will start (the battery automatically reconnects).
If it doesn't come back to life then the next procedure is to repeat the above but also remove the base and also disconnect the CMOS backup battery before step (iv) then reconnect before (v).
If that doesn't work then remove any RAM in the RAM slot. If that has gone bad or has developed a bad connection then it can prevent the computer starting. The final relatively easy troubleshooting measure is to remove the HDD and see if the computer will try to start and give a "missing boot device message".
