I have a 11.6" Series 9 laptop. I don't know what the heck is up with this thing but it's running hot...and I can feel the heat on the keyboard keys as well as the palm rest area next to the mouse pad. It gets unbearable when I have it plugged in for charging. Is something wrong with the battery?

    Two thoughts:

    1. Install BatteryBar and see what is happening during charging. The current should drop significantly (to a few tens of milli-Amps) once the charge exceeds about 90%. If the current remains high then there will be a lot of unwanted heat. Also see what the battery wear is.

    2. Go into the BIOS and run the battery calibration. This fully drains the battery and allows the battery chip to know the current capacity. This may fix the the charging problem. If it doesn't then it may be time to go shopping.

alright thanks...i'll check those two options.
I'm currently charging the laptop but it says "6.7% of 42032" for battery wear.

so the battery is at 95% and I see a drop in mW (it says mW not amps however)....it's at 4.7ish mW currently. IT went down from a double digit number.
