Nothing rumoured at the moment. One problem is that the engineering challenges of maintaining chassis stiffness increase in proportion to the square of the dimension and the easiest way to achieve the stiffness is to increase the thickness which provides the space for extra hardware such as a dedicated GPU. Another design consideration is the need to have enough weight in the chassis to stop the computer tipping over backwards when the display is pushed back. I suspect this is one reason why battery capacities are increasing - they provide useful counterbalances that can be placed under the palm rest.

There is a good correlation between the weight of the 13.3" and 15" Series 9 and the cube of the display size. Extrapolating that relationship puts the weight of the 17" machine as 2.4kg. I wonder how much the 17" 2013 Series 7 weighs? probably not much more.
