Lack of proper 1024x768 (non scrolling) resolution is killing me on certain applications and games on the NC10
I see there is a vga port, but how does it work and what does it do?
(ie. How do i output to it if i connect it to my VGA monitor?
What resolutions can it output at?
What happens to the NC10's built in screen whilst outputting to the vga monitor?)

To output it to a VGA monitor all you have to do is connect a cable from the NC10 VGA port to the monitor's VGA port. The NC10 should have a key combination to select whether you want to use the laptop's screen, the external screen or both at the same time showing the same image. It is usually Fn+F10, Fn+F8 or something like that.
The NC10 is quite recent and should support pretty much any resolution on an external display. -
HerrKaputt is right. The key combination is Fn + F4.
I use the VGA port to connect it to my 22" LCD (1680*1050) and my 42" plasma TV (1024*768). Both look fine.
You can choose, dual view or single view. You can also use it as extended desktop. -
i used it on my 26" tv at 1366*768 just fine. except the whites where very white and hurt my eyes

I have an external with 1680*1050 (asus vw221) and the image is decentered so that part of it is off screen and there is a black band on the other side. I tried repositioning the screen with the buttons in the Intel interface but it only goes so far. I don't have this problem with other esolutions (eg 1440 x 900 which was the one with less distortion), only with res involving 1050. The really weird thing is that I'm positive I used the same res yesterday and didn't have this problem! Tried rebooting, switching res back and forth, using the Samsung update, using only the external monitor, all to no avail. Any ideas?
p.s.
Another thing is that if it goes to sleep when it wakes up the NC10 sometimes won't offer 1680*1050 anymore and I will need to reboot to get it.
So.. what can i do with this vga port on the NC10?
