I owned the sony vaio TZ about 2 years ago and I remembered I paid $2499 for it.

I do agree that its very nice, sleek and the screen was exceptionally vivid (even compared to my 15" macbook pro led screen).

Anyway, now looking at the TZ series they are still going for $2k on eBay and $2499 still from a lot of vendors.

The only difference inside is that it has a core 2 duo ulv processor but other than that it has the same 2gb of RAM capacity, still a gma 950 and same 2.5" hdd (well with an extra 1.8" for the ssd drives).

Anyway I think the samsung netbooks are exceptional for the price. I really think the atom processor is even better since it gives you so much more battery life AND you can still watch 720p movie clips just fine!

God I love my samsung nc10!! Man netbooks are the best thing ever to happen in the computer industry.

Yes. The netbooks provide portability + battery time without a massive price. However, the TZ wins on the display real estate provided your eyes can handle to little pixels.

My own comparison is between the NC20 and a Toshiba R500 (a refurb, so it only cost double the NC20). However, in return for double the cost, I get a dual core CPU, a built-in optical drive and 30% less weight.
