    Hi all,

my notebook (Samsung NP900X3G-K01DE) is defective. Quite some Keys stopped working, but it is not the keyboard, as I did replace it with a new one. I suppose an I/O-controller on the mainboard is defective, so I'm trying to find a replacement unit.
I live in Germany where Samsung had stopped selling notebooks some tie ago.

The only board I could find is from ebay US, 'NP900X3K-S02US'. It look exactly the same as my board, but unfortunatelly the plugs for the two I/O-Boards (USB & DC, etc.) and for the Display have changed, so I cannot use that board for my laptop.
    Now I have 2 questions:
    1. Where to get the proper 'NP900X3G-K01'-Board?
    2. Alternatively: Where to get the two I/O-Boards (USB & DC, etc.), that are compatible with the 'NP900X3K-S02US'-Board?
Are There maybe adapters for the different plug-types?

    Thank you for your help!

Samsungparts.com may not ship outside of the US but is a useful source of Samsung part numbers which you can then search for.

However, the underlying problem is that once these notebooks are 3 years old there's little obligation to maintain any spare parts inventory for warranty repairs so any parts are either those remaining in stock or come from dismantled notebooks.

I sadly am experiencing more and more problems with my NP900X3G-K02DE as well.
Touchpad clicks and key inputs sometimes don't register but most annoyingly the right fan is almost always on and running with a deafening noise.
I already opened the laptop multiple times to clean the fans with compressed air (while I locked the bearings) but sadly the fix doesn't help for a long period of time and the bearing of the right fan obviously is slowly failing on me.
A local electronics shop quoted me a price of around 60 € per spare fan, which I think is ridiculously high, still I don't want to dispose the laptop any time soon and especially not only because of a broke fan.
Any ideas where in Europe (or ridiculously cheap but without warranty from Asia) I could obtain an original spare fan for a more reasonable price?
I found the following offering in the UK but don't know how trustworthy the shop is and honestly don't need a spare left fan: http://www.chargers-pc.co.uk/samsun...sung-ativ-book-9-900x3g-np900x3g-p-42547.html
If it helps finding spare parts of if anybody else is interested in it I could take a picture and write down the parts number of the fans next time I open the laptop.

I've not heard of that UK supplier but it's something I would be willing to try if in need of replacement fans and payment is via Paypal or a credit card. I see that the details of the the X3G fan says "Model: UKCP-Samsung-900X3B-R-L-Fan-8" which implies that Samsung has used the same fan for X3B through to X3G (not suprising as they are very similar). The quantity available suggests that they bought a big box of them when someone was clearing some inventory.

Knowing that its the same fan for X3B through X3G widens the search options. For example, I find a pair of X3B fans from Hong Kong on UK ebay for £17.

Seems the supplier from the UK is scam: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/chargers-pc.co.uk

I opened my laptop today to clean the fans but with no success, the bearing of the right fan is gone.
I did note the article number of the fans though, and found three shops that offered better prices than what the local one quoted me but at the same time seemed to be reputable (one of which is the already mentioned samsungparts.com)

If anybody knows any other reputable sources for Samsung/DC Brushless fans in the EU sharing a link to the shop would be much appreciated.

Today found the following video and wanted to give that fix a try because the fans indeed seem to leak on lubrication.
Sadly unlike the DC Brushless fan of the MacBook in the video the ones of my laptop have sealed casings with welded seams, so no repair possible without the risk of breaking the entire casings.

For the time being I have removed the right fan and what a blessing the silence of a laptop with disabled fans is!
Surprisingly the heat remains very moderate and the left fan doesn't need to run even when I watch a 1080p stream for a longer period of time.
In the long run though I think it will be best to have two potentially functional fans and I will try my luck and order a pair from the british ebay listing, thanks a lot for sharing John, very helpful as usual!

Ok, I'm not giving up on my beloved Samsung NP900X3G-K01DE!
    I bought from ebay-US
    - mainboard: Samsung NP900X3K-S02US
    - USB Audio SD Slot Board BA92-14467A
    - USB Mini HDMI Board

I now need the appropriate display cable that allows to connect my old FHD-Display to the new board. Unfortunatelly the Samsung nomenclature is a nightmare and I have no idea what the LCD-cable for the NP900X3K-board is and, once found, if it can be connected to my old Display on it's other end.

Can anyone tell me what the modelpart-number for the LCD-cable is, that can be connected to the NP900X3K-board?

    Thank you a lot!

@alxmomber you did try changing thermal paste before dismissing the old board, right?

Correct if I'm wrong, but you're putting a Broadwell motherboard (which was paired with QHD screen, eDP interface obviously) inside a Sandy Bridge chassis (2-channel LVDS display, most likely) - that is unless I'm missing something, Samsung model nomenclature being so sketchy and all.

    @Starlight5
You are absolutly right!I indeed am trying to make an 'upgrade from Sandy to a Broadwell'. I have no idea if that will work out, though.. But I want to keep my Samsung notebook so badly that I'm taking the risk. The FHD cable DEFINITELY won't plug into the "Broad-Board" (hihi..), so my idea is to take the fancy "eDP-4k cable", plug it to the Broad-Board and hope that I can physically connect it to the FHD Display on it's other end and that the display will work.. But again, I have no idea if this is too naive!

So, I need either the part-number for that fancy "eDP-4k cable" od the modelnumber for thar compatible 4k display..
Any kind of help/suggestions/etc. highly apprechiated!

@alxmomber did you already receive the parts and plug them in? Is the old battery recognized by new mobo?

    @Starlight5
did not receive anything yet. but I don't think that there will be a problem with the battery.. However, I am very concerned about the Display! Seems that I will have to return all parts or find a suitable display (does anyone know the appropriate modell-/part- number?) or maybe an adapter?!

Does anyone know the part- number of the display-cable?

Again, thanks for any kind of help!

If your NP900X3G had the HN133WU3-100 then there might be no need to swap the panel; it is a 2-lane, 40-pin, 0.5 mm pitch eDP. So if you know the panel of the NP900X3K then you'd know whether it's compatible. There are no simple eDP-LVDS adapters, btw. At least not something you can tuck away in a non-DTR laptop.

    @ALL:
    As written here
    https://www.notebookcheck.com/Samsung-ATIV-Book-9-900X3G-K01.116437.0.html

    and here (#542)
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-not-lite-or-plus-with-haswell.739152/page-55

indeed, it's the 'BOE HF HN133WU3-100' panel:
    http://www.panelook.com/HN133WU3-100_BOE_13.3_CELL_parameter_20229.html

So, it is said tu use eDP.. Yay! But(t)!!! I do know that my old panels-cable can not be plugged into the mainboard.
So I have the following questions:

    - my old FHD-LCD apperently uses "STM MSAK24025P40G" Disply/Mainboard-connector. LCD uses 40-pin connector. Correct?

    - what is the connector for the G-Version of the board? What cable does the 4k-G-Version Notebook use? does that cable also have 40-pin LCD-connector?

    - which cable might work with my old FHD-LCD and the NP900X3K-board?

.. I'm completly lost.. So Thank you for any kind of help!

I attached a picture of the mainboard showing the display socket. On the socket I can read either 'H54026' or 'H54028'.
Can anyone identify the right cable when looking at the picture and concidering the socket designation?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hey all,

got the parts yesterday and built them into my laptop. Sverything works like a charm, exept the internal notebook-monitor. While I get a signal to an external Display via micro HDMI, the internal LCD uses a different plug, so I can not connect it to the motherboard.
Can anyone identify the connector type by looking at the pictures and/or tell me what the suitable cable for the new mainboard is?
.. In a perfect world there would be an adapter between my cable and the new plug..

    Thank you in advance.

    900x3g: (my old, original mainboard/plug)
    900x3k: (the new replacement mainboard/plug)
    900x3g_cable: (original LCD-cable)

Connector looks similar to that of the Ativ Book 5 series, though that specific cable won't work as is. The NP900X3K seems to be very rare. Best option would be to inquire directly with something like PCHub or Zand parts and see whether they can supply an lcd cable for the X3K. Also remember to check the specific lcd used by that system. The 3k or 4k cable is likely backwards compatible with fhd, but you want to know for certain before firing up the laptop.

@alxmomber while I sadly can't help you with connector identification, I wish you best of luck in this bold and ambitions project. Hope you'll be able to find the required cable soon!
