Why doesn't it fit? Is the HDD installed correctly? The cover should latch on even without the fixing screws.

Unless it is easy to fix yourself, then it's time to call Samsung and tell them that the work doesn't done properly and you expect the work to be corrected without delay.

the HDD is installed correctly, however they replaced the top half of the bottom section of the laptop. it wont even slide on, if you try to force it flat then the holes are misaligned and it pops up quickly. (taking pictures) it also came back to me with an acer SD card thingy?

    This is the screw hole
    [IMG]
This is where it aligns if you hold it in place

This is how 'flush' it sits

And here is my complimentary new SD Slot protector (they didn't keep me old or give me a new one for the expresscard slot)

    That looks like bad reassembly.

You can use the email link on the Samsung Support FAQ page to send those photos to their technical support, then follow up with a phone call. I would hope they will respond quickly.

Did they use a 12mm thick HD instead of a 9mm thick drive? That would cause the cover to do what it's doing...

just as a follow up, it seems that they don't care about the hard drive cover. i reinstalled Vista last night and Vista recognises the graphics card as an ATI Radeon X1300, not the Radeon Xpress 1250M that it should be...?
