So my Book 9 has that stupid Elan software...and the touchpad works great. But I keep turning off swipe left, right, up, down, ABSTARTSELECT!!!!

And after each reboot, it resets to how it was.

Is there no way to save it and not have it come back each time? It's not just after reboots, but also after logout/in.

Thanks, you guys are saving my butt here!

Is it just on one user account? If you haven't got a second one to test, it might be worth creating one locally to just test with.

It's possible you've got either a faulty setting on your account, which testing a second one should tell you. If it does it on that account too, then it's possibly your Elan driver install.

Either way, I'd try doing an uninstall and then re-installing through SW Update, but it would be useful to perform the second account test in either case to help us narrow down the problem now/for future queries from others!

I'm going to bump this. Has anyone found a solution to this? This started happening when i upgraded to Windows 8.1.

The fix is somewhere in the 8.1 upgrade thread. IIRC the 8.1 touchpad driver has various issues and reinstalling a slightly older windows 8 version will get things working again.
