    Hi,

I have received £180 VAT refund from Samsung from the offer they ran a few months ago ( Samsung Spring).

I'm looking to purchase a NP900X3C. I understand the VAT offer is now over and they are offering £100 Cashback instead.

Are they likely to ask me to pay the £180 back even though I'm buying a new product?

Has anyone been in this situation?

    Thanks

As long as you don't plan to return the X3B then you are entitled to keep that cashback and it doesn't stop you getting another cashback for another computer. Just consider it to be a reflection on Samsung's normal prices being too high. (I could save £250 on my X4C if I bought it now instead of 2 months ago but it's already done some hard work to justify the investment). The puzzling bit about the current promotion is that it is called "student". However, anyone and everyone seems to be eligible for the cashback.

Sorry I should have mentioned, I am looking to get a refund due to the very high battery wear level.

I'm unsure of whether I'll get a refund from John Lewis and buy the NP900X3C from another retailer or whether I'll do the exchange with John Lewis.

Any idea on whether this will affect the £180 cashback?

You certainly aren't entitled to a refund for the full amount if you've had the cashback.

Have you tried getting the battery replaced? Someone here reported high wear and Samsung sent them a new battery.
