We all have different needs. Otherwise manufacturers would only need to make one model.

I've ended up with the 15" Series 9 because I want good real estate but my eyes can't handle long sessions peering at small screens.

Now deciding between Series 9 15 and 13.
Is the sacrifice in RAM worth a better screen?
Or is Vaio Z superior?(I think overkill for my work)
I do some light gaming(Skyrim on low), Light video/photo editing, streaming, and Im a bit of a touch typist I guess. (75 WPM)

    1. The keyboard is very similar on both Series 9.

    2. What size / resolution of display are you using and how good are your eyes? I used the X3B for a couple of months and, when I got the bigger X4C (because I found that 4GB RAM was a limitation for my usage), realised that I had been sitting very close to the screen. More in my NP900X4C review.

    3. How much RAM have you got in your present computer? Video and photo editing can both benefit from more RAM.

I have enough power in my desktop for major stuff, I just want some light power and sleek looks. My current desktop is 8gb. Right now I am using a 13 inch MBP Late 2011 with a crappy 1280x1080. I want something matte and slightly better.

Series 9 15" also has a better battery life compared to the 13". For me, the 13" was a perfect fit for my needs. I wanted a good screen and something very portable. Also I'm not a big PC gamer, only play some casual indie games on it. Would've preferred 8GB of RAM but so far 4GB has proven to be sufficient. For productivity and some financial modeling work, my x3c has been great! But then again as John mentioned, it really depends on your needs.

I'd suggest that you play with both the 13" and 15" at a nearby store. You'll get a good feel for them.

If you're already familiar with 13" size and you got a desktop for more demanding tasks then the 13" Series 9 is your better choice. It has an excellent display.

Memory is cheap. If the Sammy can be upgraded to 8GB it should be low cost to equalize that.

I really find my MBP a bit small so Im leaning to the 15 but the display is holding me back. Can u post some pictures of the 15 inch and rectify if it is really that bad?

You should check out John's review of the x4c,
Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C User Review

When I compared the displays side by side, the 13" definitely looked better. But the 15" display is still better than most I compared with in the store.

Samsung opted to use a special soldered DDP (Dual-Die-Package) memory module which gives dual channel RAM in about the same footprint as a single SODIMM. We are not sure when an 8GB DDP package will be available.
