Guys, just a warning so you don't end up with the same problem: the specs of this notebook clearly states that it comes with a TPM chip (Trusted Platform Module). For the ones who don't know what that is, it's basically a cryptographic module that takes care of encryption so you don't use the main procesor for that.

In other words, if you're gonna use a program like BitLocker, forget about it. You simply can't use it on this PC because it does not have the TPM module.

What did the Samsung technicians said?

Great. The problem is that I bought this notebook considering that, because in the manual it says it has it!

Samsung does make the Series 9 notebook with TPM chips. Most of the retail models do not include this feature. But you CAN order it.

Thanks for the info, Thors. Where have you read it? I mean, Samsung says that somewhere or somebody told you in a store?

    Thanks!

A02US has TPM, while A03US doesn't. I needed to remove its recovery partition to activate bitlocker with my A02.

Just posted this in another thread but then came across this one more specific to TPM. Most of the 13" models do have the TPM chip:

Model Screen Proc RAM Storage TPM Price
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    NP900X1A-A01US 11.6" i3 2GB 64GB No $1199
    NP900X1B-A01US 11.6" i3 4GB 128GB No $1249
    NP900X1B-A02US 11.6" i3 2GB 64GB No $1049
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    NP900X3A-A02US 13" i5 4GB 128GB Yes ??
    NP900X3A-A03US 13" i5 4GB 128GB No $1649
    NP900X3A-A04US 13" i7 8GB 128GB Yes ??
    NP900X3A-A05US 13" i7 6GB 256GB Yes $2049
    NP900X3A-B01US 13" i5 4GB 128GB Yes $1649
    NP900X3A-B02US 13" i5 4GB 256GB Yes $1649

Hope this helps someone. I'm trying to decide whether to hold out for TPM in 11" or go ahead and go with 13".

Brian_D is correct. Some models have TPM and I think he has them listed correctly. The OP should change the post title...
