I am keeping it as full time home replacement, I need yet another pc for college now.

Anyone see any issues or better pc's than this for college?
    Samsung - Laptop / Intel® Core™ i3 Processor / 15.6" Display / 4GB Memory / 500GB Hard Drive - Silver - RV511-A01

still digging it honestly... good battery life, good specs etc.. i3

you can get better than samsung with this price. If your budget is 550$ go for toshiba
toshiba laptops are more reliable and have better performance. As for college you can get this one:
    Toshiba - Satellite Laptop / Intel® Core™ i3 Processor / 15.6" Display / 4GB Memory / 500GB Hard Drive - Black - C655-S5128

you can go for toshiba satellite and customize any laptop here

go and check out satellite L670 Toshiba Direct | satellite Laptops & Notebook Computers

if you want to customize L670 goto Satellite L670-BT2N25 Laptop

I don't think the i7 CPUs inherently use a lot of power if the CPU activity is minimal and the processor is able to spend most of its time sleeping. Look at the Processes Page in Task Manager to see what is using the CPU. Add the CPU Time column to see the cumulative CPU usage - it's a better indicator than the % CPU which is an instantaneous reading.
