I am looking for a Samsung laptop that is under $900 because I would probably buy it refurbished for $800. I am not too knowledgeable about the quality of Samsung's laptops, but I am on the Samsung bandwagon for all products. I am willing to sacrifice somethings (i.e. gaming) for better performance, screen resolution, and matte display. I do not care about touchscreen. I would like this laptop to last me 3 years. What is my best option? What is the difference between the various ATIV books?

A quick guide to the families:

Book 9: Ultrabooks with integrated graphics and SSD storage. Mainly 13.3" displays but there are still stocks of some models of the 15" NP900X4C / X4D. Models are non touch except for the NP940X3G and the NP915S3G.

Book 8: 15.6" display with dedicated graphics and a big battery. Both touch and non-touch may be available depending on your country.

Book 7: 13.3" display which may have more powerful graphics than the Book 9. Both touch and non-touch may be available depending on your country.

    Book 6
: Similar to the Book 8 except for some cost-saving measures such as a smaller battery.

Books 2 to 5 tend to be lower cost than the above with some further compromises in materials (more plastic) and features.

We can offer more specific advice if you set out your preferences such as display size and battery life.
