What processors are supported by my NP350V5C-A02UK ?

I would like to put a low power processor, as high spec as supported, in there to let the fan run quieter.
My current one is i5 3210M
Are there any lower wattage ones that my laptop would support?
Thanks

There isn't a lower TDP CPU for that socket:

What you can do is go for the 35W 4 core like the Core i7-3632QM and get twice the performance for the same power usage, so, if you are doing anything, the work can be done faster due to having twice the cores and then all the cores can go back to low power mode at 800Mhz or even disabled in C7 state.Dannemand likes this. -
Thanks. What method would you use to put the CPU at 800MHz and what method would you use to put it in C7 state?
-
The CPU by it self will clock down to 800Mhz and enter C7 state automatically its managed by OS/CPU, no need for extra programs to do so.
Why do you want the lowest TDP CPU available?Dannemand likes this. -
Because I have extremely sensitive ears and a condition that makes me very sensitive to noise, and I want the quietest possible.
What program would you use to monitor/verify that the CPU has dropped into 800MHz and C7? -
ThrottleStop can monitor both and might be able to tweak your CPU a bit, not sure if Ivy Bridge laptop CPU's can be undervolted(so they run cooler, and thus less noise).
Have you already replaced the thermal paste of the laptop and clean the fan/heatsink? -
But i'm stuck here http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-rest-assembly-off-the-samsung-350v5c.832699/ -
