It seems as though the series 5, 7 and 9 have been around for so long now without any kind of major refresh. Sure they may have put in a new processor, and upgraded to Windows 8, but these seem like minor upgrades at best.
I'm hoping that when they do, Samsung will get round to fitting their mid-top end notebooks with screens of 1080p+ resolution. As it seems that not only are other manufacturers moving in that direction (even at smaller screen sizes such as with Asus) but that they have been doing it for a while anyway (such as with my 3 year old 15" Sony E-series whose screen I adore, fan noise not so much).
Any idea when Samsung tend to properly refresh?

I believe I read somewhere that they would be presenting new laptops at CES 2013. I don't know how true it is, but it's an interesting thought.

Or maybe at CeBIT in March, or some at each event. We can't expect a major refresh until the next Intel platform arrives but maybe Samsung will do what they did earlier this year: Bring out new models with the current Intel platform and then just update the internals when the new platform arrives.

Makes sense that they would present new models as Haswell arrives. That'll practically be the time when it's time for me to upgrade my laptop, so I'm pretty interested in knowing what Samsung, Asus and Clevo will bring to the table.
Oh, and Dan Dare was a pretty awesome game to play on the C64.
When will Samsung refresh their notebook lines?
