    This must be a sign...

A sign that Samsung will be coming to North America soon!!!!!

    Celebration!! :D

Honestly - the X-50 is something I'd really want to see come here, however I doubt it for a while, maybe a x-60? 15.4" under 5 pounds with x700, DVD+-Dual, flexless keyboard, great battery...wait - That IS the x-50! :p

    Can't wait :)

I really am excited to hear that Samsung might be coming to the US market since their deal with Dell is off. YEAH, Samsung makes me happy.

Don't get too excited, I just created it because there have been a lot of good threads on Sammys lately and I know we have a decent sized international audience.

Samsung is said to be the new "Sony" in a good way of course. They are offering quality products across the entire range of electronics. If you name it, they will have a product. Their other eye-opening product besides this 19" laptop is a mega digital camera with 15x zoom and 3 LCD screens including a 3.5" screen!

I totally agree with you. If you ask most people these days, they'll say Samsung has become the new Sony in terms of product quality and innovation. It's just amazing to me how a company that used to make microwaves and fridges (as Yassarian pointed out) has become the most valuable and possibly most recognized consumer electronics company in the world. Personally, I'd love to see Samsung in the U.S. because they will offer quality and design in their notebooks, qualities that are lacking in the majority of notebooks sold nowadays.

IMHO Samsung makes better notebooks than Sony. Sony made good notebooks, but nowadays the product quality isn't the same. The service was better and the technical specifications could be really better.

And, as other users already posted, Samsung won't come in the near future to North America because they have a deal with Dell.
