Will the Samsung Series 9 sleeve fit my Series 7 Ultra? (AA-BA2NP3B)

I bought the Targus leather sleeve today for my Samsung NP740U3E. It's excellent quality with real good leather. It can be had for £30 from Amazon. Fits really well with this laptop. Because the leather is good and padding is thick, it's a bit weighty and not as slim as others out there. Might be an issue for me as the sleeve will be going in another bag that I carry. Hence, I might return it. Still recommend it though as it's very slick.

I may go for a slimmer Targus here for £23, still stylish as I had a look at it in John Lewis.

I've just come across the sleeve for the Samsung Series 9 and I'm leaning towards that now (all leather and lighter/thinner than the leather Targus). The question is will it fit the NP740? I found a different set of reviews for the sleeve here and here. Owner reviews on reevoo are all positive. Anyone know how good it is and will it fit the series 7 ultra touch?

You can check the Series 9 Accessories thread for any comments.

When I bought my NP900X3B I bought a couple of relatively expensive sleeves but they both added size / weight. Instead I use a £1 neoprene sleeve.

Thanks. I ended up reading the entire thread and picked out a few cases I like (especially Chinao one). There are not too many comments on the Samsung.

Yes, I know what you mean about adding weight and size which is why I'm returning the Targus, and now ignoring anything of that weight (400g+). The Samsung claims to be very slim and is 252g. Would like someone's comments on it regarding weight and sizer, and whether or not it would fit a series 7 ultra. It comes free apparently with some models of the series 9 so hope someone can reply.

(Will consider the £1 one, but want something a bit slick for more formal use).

I got the poundland one today! It's very good for £1 and I imagine it's just as good as the other standard neoprene sleeves. They did not have black or any other dark colour so it had to be red (over pink, yellow, orange and bright green).

The 13" is very tight though on this laptop and I can just about get the pullover on it and the laptop is slightly visible on the sides. Think I'll try the 15".

It's excellent for everyday use but might get a leather one for more formal use.

The 15" Poundland sleeve is a nice fit for my NP900X4C and will be oversized for your NP740U3E. The other more expensive sleeves may use thicker material which adds to the bulk and provides impact protection that I don't think my Series 9 needs (I'm looking for protection from dirt and scratching).

Back to the leather sleeve options, I suggest you look for one with a gusset around the edge. Those that don't have dimensions significantly bigger than the notebook that goes inside. I've just checked and the Fencer sleeve I mentioned here has the same footprint as my NP900X4C.

Thanks for that. The 13" is very tight so not good to hear the 15" will be too loose.

As for leather, it's called EasyAcc (not Fencer) on the link in your post? Is it the same as this one, I think it is and it's cheaper on this link plus available in darker brown. I noticed that this one and the Chinao one I linked earlier are not real leather but synthetic leather. Any idea which might be better out of the two? The Samsung one by the way is real leather and was thus hoping someone could say something about fit and quality.

Comparing dimensions I see that the NP740U3E is about 10mm wider, 5mm deeper (front-to-back) and 5mm thicker than the 13.3" Series 9. The 15" Series 9 is a further 30mm wider. Your NP740U3E has almost the same dimensions as the 13" Macbook Air so anything made for that should be OK. The 13.3" Series 9 is slightly smaller than the Macbook.

My leather sleeve looks to be the same as the EasyAcc one. I've just checked it with my X3B and it is a fairly loose fit. There's a spare 10mm in width so I think it would be an OK, but snug, fit for your NP740U3E. Definitely worth a try. The Chinao one should also be OK.

Thanks for that very useful post. I'm glad you give me the differences in dimensions. It also puts things into perspective for the Samsung leather sleeve. I might give Samsung a ring and see if they can give me a precise answer about whether it will fit or not.

Will compare both of the synthetic leather ones and may just choose between one of them. Makes things easier when it has almost same dimensions as the Macbook Air as most sleeves seem to be designed for it.
