I have no idea what I did. I have a Samsung chronos laptop with Windows 8.1 on it. I've been diagnosing a wireless issue and decided to plug my ethernet in and rebooted. Now, it's giving me an endless loop of crashes and restarts as seen in the video. I can't boot from any disks or USB. I have no idea how to access a BIOS or boot menu. It's just stuck in this loop.

I was able to look at the frame and it says the error relates to "ACPI_BIOS_ERROR". I've tried endless keys, esc, F1-F12 and can't get to to do anything aside from loop endlessly.

No idea what to do. Thanks.

have you tried resetting BIOS? You may be able to remove the BIOS battery by removing back cover, remove the cable that leads to the battery, and plug it back in.

If I remove the cover, I should assume I'll void my warranty, correct?

I've experienced that issue when trying to do the recovery built into Windows 8 and 8.1.

I always end up doing clean installs from Windows 8.1 installation files on a USB stick created from a Windows 8.1 ISO

    How did you install 8.1?

Windows Store update or clean install using media created from ISO?

    Can you access safe mode.

In Windows 8,Safe Mode by pressing f8 key on bootup is only enabled when the

    bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

command is executed from an administrator command prompt while in Windows 8 or 8.1

Do you have a Windows 8.1 installation USB flash drive or DVD created from an ISO file to do a clean Windows 8.1 installation if needed?

Do you have access to another computer where your drive can be formatted if needed or does your notebook a second boot drive?

If you ask Samsung then they will say yes. However, there are no seals and if you proceed carefully and do no damage then they will never know.

However, before you go inside, is there a battery disconnect hole in the bottom (small hole with cross inside rectangle symbol)? If so, then disconnect the mains power and poke a thin object through the hole. There should be a small click. Then hold down the power button for a minute.

The battery will automatically reconnect when you plug in the mains power.

I had the same problem on my sister laptop, you have to disconnet HDD and turn on PC, next you should see information about recovery F4 if you see it, connect HDD again and click f4 after that try recovery system.

PS when you start PC,, immidatly you have to update all drives (the best way is download center intel and sw update)

    This.

This was the solution. Thank you. Unfortunately I'm on an old recovery image, but at least it's not thousands of miles away in TX!

I had the same, but recovery programm has posibility copy your data from disk C too.

After that please check if you can turn on BIOS by F2, because on my sister laptop I can't :/
