I know of no reviews of the X11, but it has many similarities to the X60, for which I have just submitted a review.
The leaflet at http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/mobilecomputing/thinlight/files/leaflet_pdf.pdf gives a lot of details of the X11. You may wish to compare the features of the X11 with the X60, once my review is posted.
I would suggest you double-check whether the LCD is actually 1280 x 800 because all the other 14" panels that i know of are 1280 x 768.

i have an X11. if you have any questions, please ask me and I will try to answer you!
i personally love the computer.
only one problem is the HOT KEYs, which I havent learned to set up yet. (i dont use AV station, so I dont need the AV station hotkey.) I want to change it for another function, but I dont know how to do that!
the X11 comes pre-installed with magic keyoard to make hot keys, but the area to set it up is grey and I cant do anything with it. so I am at a loss!.
this is my ONLY gripe! and I am sure a call to samsung can sort it outother than that,, I realy like this notebook.
I used to have an X10. now I have bought the X11. its a BIG improvement. seems more durable. a fraction heavier. but I dont mind coz better battery life, feels it wont break! (my X10 wasnt so durable and the silver paint wore off),, I like the 'glass' screen effect. -
Actually, the MagicKB.exe application which handles the hotkeys, is not handling the three major AV Station hotkeys, only the Fn+F1-12 combinations + the volume buttons. The AVS hotkeys are intercepted by AVSAgent.exe. Unfortunately neither I could find an application that was able to work with those AVS keys... I will keep looking

Btw, tot for e X11 there's ONLY 1 AVS dedicated btn? U wanna customise that single btn too?

Don't buy an X-11. I have one, and I'd consider buying it to be one of my biggest ever mistakes when it comes to computers. There's really nothing good about it. Problems are:
It's strangely slow for such a high spec machine.
The gloss screen is dreadful and really hard to see when there's any light around it, either direct or ambient.
The Ctrl and Fn keys are the wrong way round. This drives me mental every time I try to hit Ctrl+Esc to get the start menu up, and it shuts down the laptop. Or I try to hit Ctrl+C to copy and it doesn't do it, etc. This is a problem with all Samsungs. It's a far greater design flaw than they realise.
The battery life is absolutely shameful. Sometimes less than an hour under moderate use. It's barely portable.
The disk only makes about 80% of its capacity available to you, for reasons only Samsung have the answer to. My local computer support shop offered to run a utility that could release it, but they said there was a chance I could lose all my data, so I didn't bother.
If you're still undeterred, make me a decent offer and you can have mine!
I have struggled to find a decent lightweight high spec 13/14" laptop. I will get rid of this one soon, but I am still looking for a good replacement. I had an Acer before, and I may well go back to them.
Hope you get this advice in time.
Cheers,
Adam. -

I'm puzzled by some of these comments. The battery life will not be very good because the X11 has a relatively small 4 cell battery. The R20 can managed 1.5 to 2 hours on battery, but if you have a a separate GPU then battery life may suffer further.
I wonder whether the slow speed is caused by software problems. Did you try reinstalling the operating system?
As for the Fn & Ctrl keys. There is no right way round but if you need a particular placing then you could have downloaded the manual and checked the keyboard layout. As for the computer shutting down when you press Fn + Esc, this is the sleep button setting which can be easily changed in the power properties to "do nothing".
I agree that the available space of the hard disk is less than expected. Firstly, the HDD manufacturers think that G stands for decimal billion instead of 1024 cubed. There is a 7.3% difference for the 100GB becomes 93.1MB. You can't blame Samsung for that. However, the AVStation Now software takes some space and there is a backup image of the operating system in a recovery partition which takes some more space. If I remember correctly, the 100GB HDD in my X60 had 84GB of available space.
You have clearly taken a dislike to the X11 and I would agree that it may be better for you to try another brand rather than do some trouble-shooting.
