    Hi forum!
I own an X60 plus with the T7200 Core 2 duo and after the 6 months that I used it now, it got quite a bit hotter and also louder, so I assume that the fan got clogged up.
Is there anyone that already has opened his X60 or cleaned the fan in some way, maybe pictures to it?

Before the X60, I had an X20, and there it was possible to remove the keyboard without loosing the warranty and then clean the fan from there with some Q-tips (Thanks for the nice thread in this forum for this ;) ).

In case there is no one that has done this, then I would volunteer and post some pictures to it ...

    Cheers

I tried now to remove the keyboard and clean the fan from there and it worked like a charm. The fan is easily accessible and the cooler can be cleaned well with some Q-tips...
    I made some pictures:

You got there before me. One suggestion for the future is to stock up with a can of compressed air. This is very effective for blasting the dirt out.

Did you check and try to clean the part of the heat sink where the fan blows through? That is the place most vulnerable to clogging. You can blast the compressed air through the fan towards that area or suck from the outside with a household vacuum cleaner. However, if there's fluff on the inside of the heat sink then the only option is to blow it back through the fan from the outside.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately i didnt find any compressed air can around here, so i did the job with the mentioned Q-tips. I took a bit longer than it would have with compressed air, I guess ;) , but eventually I could get all the fluff from the heatsink.
On the second picture that i uploaded the post before, there you actually can see some of the fluff through the fins of the fan.

I have to say, good job Samsung did with making the fan this accessible. Although I think the X20 was a bit more fluff resistant, since the fan could suck the air through these small holes in the top left corner, whereas the X60plus is cleaning the desk quite nicely with all its holes in the bottom...
