Please someone, I need some help with fixing this problem!

I just bought a samsung 700z5a-se04 with an elantech touchpad that is causing so much trouble that i am actually thinking of returning the computer...

The main problem is that it will not work at the same time as I am typing. Especially is this a problem while playing wow, using the arrow keys. It is completely hopeless playing the way it is now!

I have seen on this forum that many people have had the same problem, and that they have managed to fix it. However, the recipes for fixing the problem are so complex that i do not understand what i have to do. I have installed the latest driver i found, which is 10.7.16.1. When i start the program there is however nothing that allows me to do something about this. I can adjust the sensitivity, and lots of finger movement adjustments, but nothing like palm rejection or anyhing like that.

I found this thread on the same topic, but i couldnt understand what to do...

I have no idea what people mean when they say you have to "Change the TouchPadRejection_Display value from 255 to 1 at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Elantech\SmartPadDisplay. Then start ETDAniConf.exe. On the Additional tab, disable rejection. (I have 10.7.11.5 installed.)"

Also, while writing this post I see that I could actually need something like palm rejection, just because i have a tendency of touching the touchpad while typing... so annoying!

But, just to be clear: I DO want a simple recipe for how to make my touchpad work while typing...

If I do not get this working, i will probably return the computer (which, by the way, seems like an awesome computer except for the touchpad issue)...

There is a treasure trove of settings in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Elantech

Changing the value of Smartpad\DisableWhenType_Enable from 1 to zero might fix your first problem but i can't see see the palmcheck option.

Hi, I have the same issue, but that doesn't work for me, it's like if the registry settings had no effect at all.
