    Hi read that both of you read something of the service manual for the series 9, I confirmed in one post that series9user ordered the cd, I broke myself buying the series 3 for 388.77, yeah me poor. now the series 3 and 9 have a open port in common in the series 3 you can see it if you open the memory compartment (fuzzy teardown pics, still waiting for my series 3 just bought it sunday on eBay) on the series 9 I saw it in clearer teardown pictures, but my question is if the samsung service manual references this port, cause I'm wondering if it is a stripped down mpcie port or something else, because if you combine the 3.3V and ground lines and leave out the simcard and all the reserved crap you might be able to get away with 10 pins as far as I look at the standard. it also could be a dual usb port but that should be 8 or 9 wires, there are also endless other possibilities all of which could peak my interest.
    can either of you get me some info on this because it would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance

    @terramir

    Sorry, I can't tell what port you are asking about. There are other better pictures out there but this is one that I took of my A05. Can you tell where this port is?

    EDIT: Are you talking about the white connector below the fan in the attached picture? I would suspect this is for connecting a "debug card cable".

    Actually, I think you may be talking about "the 10 pin connector below the PCMCIA slot" that the System Diagnostics Card which connects to. That's Samsung's wording; I didn't know there was a "PCMCIA slot".

    okies looked into it it's a replacement for the isa bus and you can't use it for anything. but a diagnostic card :(
    oh well that's life but at least the usb connector to the webcam looks fairly standard on the 3 series so I should be able to do a hub mod without soldering on the motherboard :p
