    Hi there

I have suddenly developed quite a strange problem with my X60. The keys keep falling off, it happened first with the right CTRL key, it was a little loose so i tried to push it back down and it sprung off. So i kept all the bits below it, tried to put it back on but couldnt.

SO i soldiered on just using the rubber key below it, then my F5 key flew off the other day. I have tried and tried to put them back on but cant seem to be able to. First of all i would like to ask if this has happened to anyone else, and if so, how the hell do i get them back on.

    Many thanks

    Jamie

Well, if you are still under warranty you could check to see if you could get the keyboard replaced. You could either call tech support and get a cross shipment of a new keyboard and have tech support walk you through installation, or like most companies do, they just have you send the whole system in.

Either way it sounds as if you have a faulty keyboard if you are not stressing the keys in an abnormal way, it doesn't happen to everyone so it can only be one of two possible answers. Mistreatment or a faulty keyboard. Most manufacturers don't like to admit that a "lemon" was produced so all you can do is check into replacement.

By the way, the keys are installed by machine using special tools. You could also check with a laptop repair tech and see if he has the special tools and parts to fix the keys.

I hope I have been helpful.
