    dont know much about laptop. but i cant control the mouse. when i use the dropdown menu on the net the icon just goes up and down constantly.also whn i turn on the machine it beeps continuously for about 10 secs before it stops. even hav problems writingthis as the cursor keeps going back to the start. only new so has no virus. pls help

    I think there's an input problem with a stuck key somewhere, either on the keyboard or the mouse / touchpad (are you using a mouse?). The beeping usually indicates that the computer is receiving more commands than it can handle.

    Go carefully round the keyboard looking for stuck keys. Push each key down and pull it up. Do the same for the touchpad buttons.

    If there is an option in the BIOS to not use the touchpad then select that and try using a mouse but first try Fn+F10 to disable the touchpad (with a mouse connected).
