    q310 - uninstall mcafee

    i bought a q310 in the end and am now slimming down the crap programs,

    am i ok to uninstall mcafee - im understanding its just a demo?

    The McAfee will run for a limited period and then demand money.

    Before you uninstall it get a new anti-virus software ready to install in its place. Otherwise you might go the way of this person.

    There are free AV programs - see here - or if you want something good but has low resource requirements then get NOD32. The pricing is quite good if you can find a couple of friends and split a 3 seat licence 3 ways.

    if the q310 comes with a vista disk and not a recovery cd(as i think these usually just resets it back to when you got it, including all the rubbish) then you might want to clean install vista, and then you can choose what programs you want as i have heard sometimes things don't always uninstall completly.

    Can i ask what you think of the laptop as well?
