I bought the original r580 model and now I see they have new r480 and new r580 (called r580-11) models out now.

Are the new models really downgrades (that don't give as much bang for the buck) compared to the original models? Is it common computer companies to keep the same names for completely different products?

I'm just curious cause I really like my samsun r580 and have been saying positive things about it. But I feel like its a trick in a way (a trick Samsung has purposefully encouraged) cause people are going to think its the r580-11 model I'm talking about when its really the older version.

I totally agree that Samsung pulled a fast one on that!
