    Hi everyone,

This is my first post. I have a samsung notebook series 3 np365e5c. And every time I boot up the computer I have to press F10(booting options) and select the hard drive, but if don't press F10 it will stay in a black screen.
    BIOS version - P07ABF.

    Please help.

I suspect you have the HDD already as your first boot option?

Yes the HDD is already selected as the first boot option, but it does not read it automatically for some reason.

If you warm restart does it boot from the drive?

No every time it boots up either by restarting or turning it on, I still have to press F10 to select the HDD

If you have the option in bios my suggestion is to select load bios defaults. before this though be sure it does not boot cleanly is everything is removed from the USB ports. The bios may be interpreting a boot device and an emergency recovery attempt.

If that doesn't work then this thread may be relevant.

However, I don't know if the Series 3 notebooks use the same basic BIOS as the Series 9 but the same principles may apply. UEFI, even if not used, seems to have made the computer configuration data more vulnerable to corruption.
