Interesting, considering that the reports from members about the very similar R580 and R780 are very positive.

Your maybe one in a million who has a bad one.
I had a R480 for a week with no problems before I took it back for the R580.
I've got several Samsung products such as 50" touch of red HDTV, 26" touch of red TV/Monitor, Samsung Blackjack, Samsung point and shoot and love them all. No problems at all.
Samsung makes terrible products... Right.

Maybe make some more posts and use spell-check and you may be taken more seriously. ;)

Weird.. never had those problems when I had it for a weak and a half. I would never buy the extended warranty. I went back and got the R580 instead for the bigger screen. No probs with the R580 w/ the i5.

I tend to get a new notebook every year so it is senseless for me to get a extended warranty. Call me a notebook junkie. :p

I grabbed r580 for my cousin, no problems, works great and looks great.
Plus signing up to make your first post tellin someone to not buy a product seems fishy to me.

$961? Are you sure you got your laptops right cause that sounds awfully expensive (well for the US anyway).

I have a Samsung R580. Granted I haven't had it for long but so far no problems at all. All the reviews are usually very positive. Yours is the first I've read that has been this bad. Oh well, just return the laptop if you've had it for so little a time.

I think the guy was just a troublemaker as the price was wrong, and he would have had no trouble returning it if there was a problem as long as he didn't wait longer than two weeks, (Best Buy time-line).
I had no problems at all taking my R480 back and exchanging it for a R580. kanehi also did it without any problems too.

Not to mention he doesn't elaborate on the specific problems he claims to be having. Aside from some could-be-anything about scrolling and heat issues which is nonsense my 480 runs cooler than any notebook I have ever used.
It was also the absolute best deal around when I got it. $700 for i3, 4gb, 500gb, BD-ROM, LED screen AND 14"? DO WANT. I had been shopping notebooks for about a month and bought this in short order, best deal around and not only that but has less bloat than anything else I looked at and way better BD decoding software than Sony, which is really the only other brand anyone should buy from Best Buy. (ok Asus is fine too)
