First make sure that the WiFi adaptor is working. Is there an icon in the notification area? Also check in Device Manager. Fn+F12 probably toggles the WiFi on / off.

Then look for an update for the WiFi driver. Easy Software Manager is the easiest way to do this.

After that check again to see if your WiFi network is listed as available.

    Thanks for responding.
If the adapter is the wireless enables switch, yes, that is in the hidden icons and is enabled.
I updated some driver in the devices section virtual wifi miniport adapter. Is there a network adapter that is not virtual?
So it recognizes my network but can't connect.
    Any other ideas?
I'm getting the message "unidentified network" no network access.

You should have a physical WiFi device listed under the network adapters in Device Manager. For example, I have two virtual WiFi miniport adapters but I also have an Intel Centrino WiFi adapter. If in doubt, list here what you have listed under your network adapters.

No internet access can indicate a router issue. Google for that term. First, when you have identified your physical WiFi adapter go into its properties and disable the n mode.

Yes there is an Intel centrino advanced-n 6230. I attempted to update a driver and it froze. At device status it says no drivers are installed for this device. I disabled the 802.11n Mode but I still have the no network access message when I try to log in.
Should I return? I bought it at best buy for this very reason.

I suspect that something has got corrupted. Go into Device Manager and uninstall the Intel 6230. Then Use Samsung's Easy Software Manager to install the Intel WiFi driver.

Do you have any unconfigured devices in Device Manager? The driver won't install if it can't find the hardware.

I would be tempted to take the bottom of the computer, find the WiFi adapter and remove and replace it in case it isn't seated properly.

I restored the system and took it back to the store. He had no problem accessing the internet. So the problem is my home which has verizon fios, a high speed internet service. I'm wondering now if there is some incompatibility.

How old is your router? Is it supplied by Verizon? If the Verizon box has a network port then perhaps the quickest fix is to get a cheap router to connect to it through a network cable and provide your WiFi access.

I'm having a similar issue with my Samsung Series 5. It consistently disconnects from the internet (all my other devices remain connected), and when I try to disable/re-enable the adapter, it always goes to the blue screen of death. Factory reinstall does nothing. I don't feel like the router is the problem because it shouldn't cause my laptop to freeze.
