i'm considering purchasing one of these.. however I am very confused about the battery life. the australian samsung site says its about 2 hours whilst I've read reviews that claim up to 4 hours. Anyone have any idea about the battery for this laptop?

the standard battery is a 3cell, so i am assuming thats why its only 2 hours, if i purchase a 6 cell battery will it stand out a lot?

I've had my X10 for over two years now. I started with the 3 cell battery, which averaged about 90 minutes or so with heavy usage. I was never able to get much more than 2h 30min on the 3 cell with the most frugal usage. I recently upgraded to the 6 cell battery after my 3 cell died and it seems like a worthwhile improvement. It lasts approximately 3h 30min with regular usage and about five hours with minimal usage.

    Hope this helps.

Very good laptop, still one of the lightest 14" in the world.

just want to mention that samsung is shipping the x1 this month (at least they said so). maybe this one would mean some improvements for you... worth checking i believe.

Also try considering other models as well

Does X10 come in higher resolution than XGA now??

When I had it, it didn't. I liked everything about the laptop but the screen resolution. It's just stuck in XGA when it could be SXGA.

Also consider X15 as well. Slightly bigger and thicker but still a wonderful laptop.
