I have a samsung RV510 laptop purchased with windows 7 installed.

I removed windows 7 in favour of XP Pro my preferred operating system.

Now I'm up and running on xp pro, here is my problem......

When I remove the power supply and run on "battery power", the monitor dims very low and is unusable in day-light.

There is NO option in the bios to change this.
There is NO option in power setting via control panel.

Can anyone help, perhaps there is a download.

Any thoughts on battery manager download.

Its doing my head in lol......I have to use the power supply all the time.

Have you tried the Easy Display Manager, the Battery Life Extender and the Samsung Battery Manager. These, and other XP software and drivers for the RV510 are on the Samsung download site.

Failing that, perhaps you would do better to give Windows 7 another chance so that the computer can operate as designed. I always set my Windows 7 visual appearance so that the eye candy is disabled and it then looks much like XP.

Aside from easy display manager, do the function keys which can change display brightness work? It is very common that the display will automatically dim when going to battery power; however, my experience is that the normal functions keys for brightness continue to work.

    Good luck.
