    Hi,

One of the disadvantage of wide screen is that I need to move further right in the touchpad to reach the scrollbar, where I can click/tap to scroll say half page at a time.

The scroll area in the touchpad is nice(no longer need to reach the scrollbar) but I can only make it scroll contineously rather than the page at a time mode. Is that possible ?

I think you'd have to remap something to the page down button. That, or use the page up/down buttons instead.

thanks but page up/down key are far away from the touchpad which 80% of the time I can operate with just one finger quite comfortably in the 1024x768 resolution :)

If you have the Synaptics touchpad, then there are many tapping configuration options. These are almost hidden under the touchpad properties. See Touchpad1.jpg attached. Select the pointing device then press the Settings button. You will get a new set of options (Touchpad2.jpg). You will need to enable tapping, then enable tap zones and finally you can choose from a long list of options for the action when you tap the corners of the touchpad (Touchpad3.jpg). You may also need to adjust the sensitivity options: I find I have to tap quite hard.
