Im thinking of upgrading to win 7 , and i m planning on doing a clean install. But i really like the omnipass software. I secure alot of my data with the fingerprint reader and i wanted to know if ill lose that ability once i upgrade to win 7. I dont have the cds that came with the laptop and i didnt see the omnipass software on the samsung support site. Anyone done the upgrade? where you able to keep the fingerprint reader encrypting capabilities?
    thanks

Windows 7 has built in support for fingerprint readers, but when you do the upgrade there is a driver from Authentec that you can install - it should come via Windows update.

The only thing you won't get that Omnipass gives you, is the ability to have fingerprint access to password protected web-sites and such.

Just be careful with your upgrade though. A few of us are having problems with the X360 randomly hanging after the Win7 upgrade. There is a thread on here. Some suspect gfx drivers, but it could be anything really - power management, touch pad, gfx, bios, etc etc.
