    view bios on external display ?

    Do any of these samsung models have option in bios that can enabled external display only so I can view also the bios on external display ? currently I have a broken screen + fault keyboard ..and will now most likely only use it as a desktop / external display setup .. only issue cant view bios from the external display..

    model samsung RC720 current bios 03FA .. new bios 08FA not updated yet .. cheers

    The only thing I can think of, and this is iffy, is take the laptops LCD cable internally and disconnect it. This may then force the video card to initialize with the external monitor, but maybe not boot at all without it.

    That's good advice to disconnect the internal LCD cable: I did exactly that on an HP laptop last year when its screen died. That forced BIOS, booting and everything to the external display. I used it this way for several weeks until I got a replacement screen.

    It wasn't on my Samsung laptop, but the logic remains the same.

    yep sadly tried that also ... removed fully the lcd connector wiring cable from the motherboard to lcd .. but still no luck blank screen till windows login.. ..interesting thing dou updated bios firmware to latest and now keyboard is working fine as in keys were in wrong characters ...

    What external display connection are you using? I think the BIOS may only support VGA. Also, if it's the LCD which is broken then replacements are quite cheap.
