I'm excited for this new update. Looking forward to the speed boosts.
According to AVG's press release:
AVG Free 9.0 will be available mid-October and will be able to be downloaded at free.avg.com. -
Will the NEW AVG 9 beats out the almight Avira and Avast?
I hope AVG 9 will better than Avira and Avast. So, I can use AVG again. LOL.
My standard AV/IS must be LOW resources and HIGH detection rate, which Avira provided. -
AVG is ok, I can install this on my friends machines without them being illegal or having to pay for anything.

AVG has gone down hill with each revision and that screen shot doesn't encourage me. They have added more componants to go wrong.
It used to be that the problem with Norton and McAfee products is there is so much going on and it is so deeply integrated in the OS that eventually something WILL go wrong. (not IF but WILL)
The same applies to AVG, especially since version 8 came out. 7 was better, but not as good as 6. I've run into dozens of machines in the past year where AVG was just randomly going nuts and completely killing the machines performance.
When you have 12 different componants, one failure takes the whole thing down. I am sure it will work great for a while, but it will only be a matter of time.... -
Word, AVG has done nothing over the last few years but gain bloat and increase its ability to hang a machine. The screen shot implies more of the same although I have to admit I am/was surprised by Norton actually starting to go the other way after years of getting worse with each release. Proof is in the pudding...
