    i m now using AVG free latest version but it became my computer slow and some time it can't be able to find the virus and some warms.i m trouble to surf on interenet and became my internet connection very slow.i think that is for free version can any one tell me which anti virus is best for performance and which is free to use

    Get rid of AVG Free Edition or even AVG Premium Suite. AVG is generally pointless.

    OK. Now, you have some good choices here and FREE.
    Avira Antivir Personal 9(Avira) - Lightest Resources(means no slowdown system) and Superb Detection Rate(higher than AVG very much).
    Microsoft Security Essentials(MSE) - Light Resources(about the same with Avira Antivir Personal 9) and Superb Detection Rate(about the same with Avira again).
    Avast! Home Edition(Avast) - Moderate Resources(may slowdown system slightly) and High Detection Rate(not as much as Avira and MSE) and have more features than the other FREE AVs.

    Also note, Avast and MSE have lesser False Positives than Avira.
    And avast doesn't slow down systems. I had avast! 4.8 running on a very old PC with 256MB RAM. It didn't slow down the system at all. Ran as smooth as Avira did.
    The only hiccup i've experienced with MSE is that it uses a lot of CPU cycles.

    Agreed. Ever since I've switched to MSE, things have been awesome.

    To the OP - MSE is your best choice.

    :D hahaha. I wish...

    Well nothing was really terrible before, but MSE is definitely smooth-sailing. After I upgraded to Windows 7, I installed MSE from the start and have had no problems whatsoever (knock-on-wood). I think that it's the simplest, easiest, and best protection out there and since it's free, it's the perfect choice.

    I've honestly never noticed a difference between AV softwares. Given that I don't really do anything which promotes viral infections, I can't comment on det4ection rates and resource wise, most of the ones I've used were pretty much similar so to me it's more or less the same.
