I dont know if this is related to the update, but i have been getting spikes of 50-60% cpu usage on Firefox with only one page open, and scrolling is slow and jerky.

I'm using the Firefox Developer branch, 49.0a2 and I also noticed a heavier load after updating to the latest flash version.
Chrome is locked into a much older version, due to Google dropping Vista support, and it's still performing well.Last edited: Sep 20, 2016 -

I use an add blocker uBlock, so most of the flash adds are blocked, but the one that get though still slow my browser down, I wonder how my watts are wasted world wide running this crap, they should be forced to only show adverts as still images.

Always been meaning to ask…
I see these updates when I check for Win 10 updates, but I made a point of not installing Flash. Can I just toss this into the F.O. pile like MS's driver "updates", or has the whole mess been baked into Windows too -
Good question. I don't know if it's baked in. I'm assuming it is. You can always go into control panel and check if you have the "Flash Player" icon. If you do, its installed. You can click on the icon and then the updates tab to see what version is installed.
Security wise, it's better not to install it and hopefully sites will use html5, but a majority of sites still use adobe flash. If you do have it installed, definitely update to the latest version for security.
