Is there any harm to scan the whole computer HDD with Anti Virus program and run Eraser program (to erase unused portions of HDD) at the same time? (Both can take about an hour or more). Will the HDD be prone to damage of any sort?

damage...no, though one could argue the extra wear and tear of running 2 very disk intensive tasks will put xtra wear and tear on the drive head mechanism as it swing sback and forth
And it will probably take 12 hours to run the two simultaneously instead of running back to back -
I'd even throw away the wear and tear argument.
Modern disks can readily take a days worth of intense activity without significant damage. -

Any harm to run anti virus and eraser at the same time?
