I have been unable to perform the updates for Avira Antivir for the last few days. After the Updater dialog box is opened, the status then shows "Scan for updates", and got stuck there. Does anyone encounter the same problem recently? And can anyone tell me how to fix it?
Thanks.

The updates have been erratic for some time now (although in NL, Europe it seems to be working again).
What, in my case, always works, is to schedule updates myself.
Just open Avira, under Administration, open Scheduler and then select Insert new job.
There you can configure an update-job yourself or even make multiple jobs to have Avira update as often as you want, visible with a pop-up or invisible as a background process. -
It's not stuck; the servers are just overloaded from the huge (by Avira definition update standards) update that's taking place now. Just be patient and leave the updater open or minimized and you will get the update within 45 minutes. All my computers took between 10 and 45 minutes yesterday to download and install the large update file, but eventually they all updated.
