No. The Vista version (V3) has just been released.
I have deinstalled PC Tools SpyWare Doctor and PC Tools FireWall Plus V2 and installed Comodo FireWall Pro V3. -

"Better"? I don't yet know for sure. It seems to pass the same ShieldsUp tests that an unprotected Vista Home Premium PC passes. It seems to identify programs that want to access the internet (which is 100% more than the Windows Vista Firewall does). The PC seems to run faster.
On the first install (I have installed it twice now) I left PC Tools SpyWare Doctor installed and active and SpyWare Doctor detected a few dozen trojans during the install of Comodo; however, I ran SpyBot Search and Destroy (twice) and it did not detect any such debris. And I trust SpyBot more than SpyWare Doctor. I have since uninstalled SpyWare Doctor.
I'll try Comodo for awhile and see. It will take awhile to root around in it and find how it tells me about stuff. And it is one of the first to be Vista-ready. -
I don't know much about Comodo but this is posted on the download site.
Authenticates the integrity of every program before allowing it to load into your computer's memory.
Alerts you every time an unknown or untrusted applications attempts to run or install
Blocks Viruses, Trojans and Spy-ware before they can ever get onto your system
Prevents unauthorized modification of critical operating system files and registry entries
Does this mean I wouldn't need AntiVir, spyware Doctor or search & destroy? -

Comodo V3 is gone from my PC, not to return.
Without warning I was locked out of all my folders, did not have permission to access, could not even shut down.
I was able somehow to get into Control Panel and Remove Programs and uninstall Comodo (sort of) and reboot.
I deleted the Comodo Folders from \Program Files\ and elsewhere, cleaned it out of the registry, rebooted, and yet Windows Security Center still reports it as active. -
^Yikes. The heck happened?

Not quite sure. I've since read about some conflicts with Comodo and Avast, but didn't dive into the details of them, and anyway, this did not look like a AV/FW conflict. It looked to me like Defense+ fell and couldn't get up.
Windows Vista Security Center still says Comodo is active, even though it is gone. Sigh.
I'm on a fifteen day trial of Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite right now. -
comodo v3 just popped out 3.0.13.268 (get this from filehippo site)
Version 3.0.12.266 did have loads of issue with Vista
i m having none of the issue with my vista ultimate (vista firewall+defender+comodoV3.0.13.268+Avast
cheers ... -
Installed on my vista x64 system. Took the time to read the help files. Deactivated "show balloon tips" to eliminate the "defense+ is learning" pop ups. Switching to "installation mode" when installing new applications eliminates a lot more pop ups. CFP 3.0 seems to be working great for me so far. Glad to have a powerful firewall application for my x64 system.

i set the firewall security level at "custom policy mode" and defense+Security level at "Clean PC Mode" - if it makes any differences to anyone - on both my XP and Vista
cheers ... -
I can't set it to clean pc mode because i am constantly downloading and insalling new things and i'd get pissed off if it bugged me all the time like uac.
-
I guess I'll have to weigh the pros and cons now.
I used Comodo on my old Win 2000 desktop PC, but the constant warnings after game patching, application updates, Logitech mouse drivers doing something entirely harmless, a program being equally harmlessly accessed from another one and so on, was often close to driving me nuts (well, at least it was rather annoying) - and on numerous occasions caused game crashes and even, rarely, full system lockups as they weren't always too happy about loosing application focus when dropping out to get rid of a warning.
I'm just relying on my Vista and router firewalls now, and while I won't get any warnings if something nasty tries to "dial out", I've never actually had anything nasty (well... virus and spyware nasty anyway) on my computers for the last six years, so I'm not entirely sure getting outbound protection is worth the headaches.
Proper inbound protection, common sense and regular malware scans should (hopefully, nothing is guaranteed of course) keep you clean. -
-
Yeah i got that one first too but i re-downloaded just in case. I wondr if it'll have a negative effect on my torrents...
-
-
I'll install after all of my torrents are done. I don't want to risk them getting lower speeds.
-
I almost changed to another option, but then it was interesting to see (for me anyway) the first time what Vista is shooting out into the net behind users' back.
So far i noticed that even with just browsing, Vista sent (sneaked) out more connections and had more hooks than under XP. But surprisingly, this did not slow down the system performance. I love this new Comodo, this is the best tool so far to learn the communications behaviour of Vista and comparing them to XP

Auto upgraded this morning to 3.0.13.268. With XP everything seems to running fine.

I've installed Comodo V3 without Defense+ and its been running on my laptop for 5 minutes or so and its going to be gone within the next 5 minutes. Its proving to be far too resource hungry for my liking. If I'm running a few connections to the web that want to access it all at once, my CPU usage on both cores hits right up to the 90-100% range and where I once got CPU usage of 10-20% on both cores whilst listening to music and using Firefox I'm mainly getting 50% usage or so.
The firewall is proving to be a bit too hungry for my liking. -
-
I've sat with it on up until now and there has been little improvement. I will most likely try it again within a month or so but for the moment I am quite snug behind the network firewall =)

And I did find a way to remove it from the Windows Security Center list, too, so it is truly completely gone now. -
Well, sorry to hear your problems. It's been working fine here, I don't get asked as much for permission as I did with the last version, and when I do I can select trusted applications. Also, it's learning mode has unobtrusive pop up reminders.

Interestingly enough, I found a half dozen or so inactive, hidden non-PNP device drivers related to Symantec that the Symantec Norton Uninstaller did not remove, so I removed them at this time, too. -
So far it's been working fine for me with Defense+. It only showed up a couple windows, the rest it had already learned. Even set up utorrent for me. I'm not having any resource problems either. My laptop stays within its normal range: CPU usage 1-5%. So far, the only reason why I don't like it as much as the old one is because I don't like the new menu setup. Fortunately, I haven't had to go into the options yet.

Thanks. The only problem I seem to have, although it passed the CPIL leak test from Comodo, it did not pass the GRC leak test.
We'll see how it goes. I'm sure they'll be coming out with some patches. They'll need to, lots of other having problems with V3 on the Comodo forum... -
i just ran the LeakTest myself and Comodo blocked it, causing LeakTest UNABLE to connect to the GRM.COM Web Server
http://www.grc.com/lt/leaktest.htm
i missed something?
cheers ... -
I'm pretty sure comodo blocks leaktest because they are really anal about those kinds of tests and make sure that they pass them before anything else.
-
cheers ... -
No other way that i know of.
-
well, let us wait for Hiker's input in this area then. i m out of idea myself, and searching the net has not yielded anything regarding this Comodo V3 GRC leak
other than that, it has been great under (and for) vista. i do not have so much popup since yesterday. in the process of running thru the whole apps library to "teach" comodo my environment, and to learn from it what processes are doing what and when
cheers ... -

Are you sure you have comodo running?
-
It's has to be some kind of glitch. I just blocked leaktest.exe and it still penetrated the firewall.

AKAJohnDoe Mime with Tourette's
FWIW, I just tried it with Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite and LeakTest was detected, I chose to deny it access to the internet, and it was unable to penetrate and unable to contact the server.
However, in Auto-Learn mode, it is automatically allowed.
I expect that the Comodo learning mode functions similarly.
