    ever so often I get a popup like I get when trying to log into a router/modem for 'cheapcellphoneaccessories.c0m' it asks for a username/password in a popup box...

    Check msconfig's startup tab and see if something untoward is there.

    Also, run Kasperkey's free online scanner: Free Virus Scan - Kaspersky Lab

    BTW, were you running Microsoft Security Essentials?

    nothing in the startup, or running processes that I haven't seen before...


    I use MSE mainly because I go to the same 30ish sites and that's it... I was doing a research project earlier today so... :mad:
