I've read on a few different forums that users who upgraded to SP2 and had NOD32/ESS v4 installed ran into some problems.
I want to update to SP2 but I have Eset Smart Security V3 installed. I am wondering if this will cause problems for me
Would it be better to just un-install this before the actual SP2 install, and then re-install the program once I have updated ??
Thanks
PS - Is there a removal tool for ESET Smart Security / NOD32 like for Norton and McAfee that should be used to uninstall???

no problems at all with SP2 and v3.
furthermore, v4 is now compatible with Vista SP2 after a few updates, u can install the latest version 4.0.437 safely! 0 problems!
NOD32 FTW -
No removal tool for ESET as its uninstaller is not as bad as the norton or symantec one keeping registry entries all over ur pc. u can install safely, then manually delete the ESET folder after the restart, and install whatever u want after that.

So best thing for me is to un-install V3 install SP2 and then re-install V4 (which works with SP2) ???
Thanks -
you're right, always make sure you run the latest version of NOD32 to ensure you got maximum protection.
incase you installed it and for any reason got a message saying nod32 cannot start let me know ill tell u instantly how to get around that through 1 update
but u shouldn't face any problems as far as I know, last time I tried it with Vista SP2 64 bit last week it worked fine out of teh box.
im here to support u if u have any problems.
PS: i dont work for ESET

LOL at you PS
Thanks for the info
I will hopefully download SP2 tonight and see how it goes
I'll update once I'm done -
Awaiting further updates from j00

Gotta get SP2 first
Downloading through Windows Update as I speak
-
Just to update, un-installed Eset smart security V3, installed SP2, then re-installed NOD32 v4
No problems so far

Run the updates on NOD32, then Restart, then tell me if the green NOD32 icon turns orange or green?
-
Entered my Username and password, and hit update
It updated (22MB) file, and showed the pop-up (successful update) and the icon remained green.
I also checked the validity of my username and password, just as expected correct date came up.
Had to restart after that (another program) but still green even after re-start.
1000th post w00t!
