    Will be receiving a new laptop. For virus protection will prob' use MSE.

    What firewall protection should I use ? Is the Win7 f/w ok ?

    Windows 7 firewall is all you need; don't waste your time installing any other ones if you will be using MSE or any of the other effective AVs out there (Avira, Avast, Norton, NOD32).
