Looks a little shady but i might give it a try...
-
The other links in that forum are working. But haven't tried installing it.

I as well have downloaded from one of the other links but, haven't installed yet...
-
Why don't you guys try it and do a full system virus check and tell us your findings? Take one for the team.
-
Eh, it doesn't expire until 1-17. I'll wait a bit since traffic is high and see if anyone has trouble with it.
-
Anyone give it a try??? Are there seperate versions for 32bit and 64bit systems?
-
Lawlz, i think everyone ss too scared of catching a virus to try it out.
-
I think your right!!
I would try it but am stuck at work
I think I may be headed for a format anyway If I can't figure
out why all my updates fail? -
I don't see any crazy difference between the PRO version and FREE version.
-
But the PRO version is for pro's...
-
I decided not install the free pro as there is no good damn difference between the free and pro version except the high speed updates and 24/7 tech support.
Also the free pro version seems to be a old release. -
But pros might not want a free thing. They would want to buy a license.
-
Unless they're cheap pro's...
-
How do you stop the pop-ups from the free version wanting you to upgrade?

i think you got hosed. i've been running AVG free edition for over a year now and haven't seen 1 single pop-up ever. -
There's no popups in the free version. Have been running it for a long time now.
The PRO version lets you edit and add schedules for scanning tasks. The free version does not. It has one schedule built-in. Scan your whole HD every day. -
This is where I downloaded it.

Are you kidding? The one you downloaded is not avg.
-
Yup, it may be better but it's not AVG.
-
Oops wrong link..I have a bunch of links I mailed to myself so once I decided
what I wanted I knew where to go and get it. Dosen't matter now it looks like I am going to have to try format it. -
Downloaded the pro version and installed it. So far so good. I put it on my new laptop, so if something is fishy I could just reformat while everything is still fresh.
The Pro has some advantages over the Free (duh), like being able to schedule scans whenever you want as opposed to being limited to the default scan at 8:00am every day.
Read the License agreement as well, and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. It's a bit long so I won't post it, unless someone asks and wants to take a look. -
I've been running AVG free for many years, and indeed there have been a *very few* popups telling you to also buy the firewall and spyware scanners. They are not true popups, but once in a while you'll notice that it doesn't start minimized to the tray, and there's a little banner ad on the control panel.

I'm using the pro version with no problems. Right now i'm scanning my system for virus.

Installed Pro version. No problems and not very different from the free version.

I installed the pro version. It's not so different from the free version that would make me want to buy it.
-
Any quirks? Like. . . it having a virus attached to the install?
-
Patrick Y. Go Newbs! NBR Reviewer
ummmm...no. Why?
-
It'd be real funny if I downloaded this. Then ran am AVG FREE scan & it saw the pro version as a virus
-
This all seems very shady...

lol
Tons of people have installed this. So far, no complaints as far as I know.
-
But why haven't people been saying how good it is? Or at least saying something for it's well benefit. That makes everything seem very shady.
-

Wow you're hard to satisfy
Well for one the pro version is extremely similar to the free version. Therefore you're not going to hear any "wow". Furthermore, people often complain more than they compliment. -
Yes i am.
Anyway, even though this seems a little less shady i think i'll pass.

It runs fine. I did a scan with Trend Micro House Call online but it found nothing. -

For those that are wondering, here is the serial that is integrated into the .exe
So instead of installing that older program, go to grisoft.com and grab their latest version and use the serial I provided.Code:75VNU-TH1RR1-L7-P03-C01-S3S9MD-2YN-3AUS
The subscription lasts until Dec. 1, 2008.
