It's an extremely bold claim by MBAM and it'd be great to hear what you guys think about it? Is their new 3.0 really better than Bitdefender, Kaspersky, Enet, etc?
Most of my googling says Bitdefender is the best AV on the market for maximum protection. Does MBAM 3.0 offer something that Bitdefender and the other top AV's doesn't?

There's no such thing as a single, turn-key security solution that'll 100% protect a user from all threats. Malwarebyte's is good stuff, but I personally wouldn't be so bold as to claim it's perfect.

"All that glisters is not gold—
Often have you heard that told.
Many a man his life hath sold
But my outside to behold.
Gilded tombs do worms enfold.
Had you been as wise as bold,
Young in limbs, in judgment old,
Your answer had not been inscrolled
Fare you well. Your suit is cold—
Cold, indeed, and labor lost."
Maybe MB want more customers?

Agreed this is like asking for trouble and they will get hammered by malware at this point claim they can stop all. What matter is the user themselves are they willing to go to black site or stay legit sites to avoid finding malware infected or trap site. And worse most users are the Admin account with Windows 7 and higher so the infection is laying in wait for those unsuspecting users whom come to the site with Admin privileges will install without their knowledge malware in wait and then ask home come I got infected. To which I asked what account where you using that allowed you to get malware-and they would answer their one main account and then I ask then you permitted it to install it then so the fault was yours to begin with not understanding that got you into trouble in the first place. For the good Malwarebyte has done it is not the end all to the malware problem they are making a facade that will be broken and they will have to backtrack their statements. -
Yeah, you definitely need a range of solutions to do security correctly. I typically do the following:
Non-admin account for daily use
Don't go to shady websites
Don't click on anything if I land on one
Browser tools (ad blocker, script blocked, etc)
Firewall
Cleaning tools (Malwarebytes being one)
Don't fall for social engineering (Dave from Windows, etc)
Backups
Not the best setup, not the worse setup. But for the threat model I face (I'm a nobody), it's good enough for my use.hmscott likes this.
