I am using a Dell windows computer, & my computer keeps telling me I have a virus called a "Trojan downloader" but I did a full scan on Malwarebytes & said I only had 1 virus, which was some random one I didn't know about. So I deleted it. But my computer keeps saying there's a Trojan downloader active on my computer!! & the only thing I've downloaded so far on my computer was a game called, "maplestory". Could this be a false virus, cause this is just from the anti-virus that comes with windows... Which is really crappy...

If you are using the anti-virus that came with windows, would I be correct in assuming it is MSE? If so, scan wth that and let us know what it says. Also, what was the random virus? It could be replicating. If possible, please run both scans and post a screen shot.

Wait wait wait...
First off, that's a Dell computer.
The antivirus that comes pre-installed with Windows on DELL computers is (usually) McAffee.
If that is the case... first off, do yourself a favor and REMOVE that garbage Antivirus program.
If you want a decent antivirus program which is free and doesn't slow your computer down, then download and use only one of the following options:
Avira Free
Avast Free
Microsoft Security Essentials
Panda Free
Once you have one of those on the computer, rescan it with quick scan mode and report back. -
it could probably be multiple anti-virus programs. you should usually have one. If not, then the virus could have already rooted it self deep into your C drive. i recommend a deep scan from an anti-virus you buy at a store, and if not a factory reset of your CPU

A deep scan from a purchased av can produce same results or do nothing for him/her.
It depends WHAT kind of av software the OP has. -
Upload the ' maplestory' .exe/file and the specified trojan downloader file to an online multiscanner like Virustotal.com, Metascan.com or Jotti. See sig for links.
See if other AV's also flag it as malware. -
McAfee can be set to run in the background with as little resources as possible, so OP, if your concerned with resources, you can set McAfee to run in the background.

Install avast and run a boot time scan.
Should sort it out. -

Does the virus scanner give a file name and a location for the Trojan downloader? Sometimes, you can use logic to tell if its a false positive, especially on a computer that you've done nothing on
My computer says I have a virus?
