I have a netbook with limited specifications, I am using the latest V4 version at the moment with Windows XP.
I was wondering if I switch back to version 2.7, would I be vulnerable to threats? What sort of performance difference would I notice?
Thanks

You won't be vulnerable to threats if you go back, they all still keep the same virus database (I think!) so there should be no dramas there. ESET is a pretty light program already, so I doubt you will notice that much speed difference.
I'm using ESET Smart Security 4, and I use that on a really old desktop, it runs fine. But, I do understand, they are different programs. -
I wouldn't recommend reverting to 2.7. I used to prefer it to v3 which was very poor and affected performance but this is not the case with v4.
What's more you won't have the same level of security that with v4- virus definitions are just part of the game but the scanning engine, the heuristics etc are better with each new version -partially because the developer improves it but also because they include lessons learned analyzing new threats that were not present when last version hit the market. -
Just keep v4.
The performance impact on the system is negligible, and v4 has better scanning engine, improved heuristics, etc. -
right.....version 4 it is then
NOD32 v 2.7 versus v4 on a netbook?
